take a gap year!

Ok i haven't posted in aaaages but i have an acceptable excuse. I failed to mention in previous posts that i am currently on a gap year and have been travelling- mostly round SE Asia for the past six weeks. Arrived home on Saturday night and am pretty depressed to be back in rainy London compared to the beaches of Thailand and the mega malls of Malaysia (seriously i've never seen such malls!) My first destination was Hong Kong and all i was thinking when i was there was 'i must come back with tons of money so i can raid these shops'. The shopping was amazing but due to my tight budget i couldn't take full advantage. I will definately be back loaded with credit cards.

Thailand was amazing, we travelled around the country for three weeks, staying in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Krabi. Couldn't even tell you my favourite place because they were all equally amazing. Only stayed in Bangkok for 2 days unfortunately, would have liked to stay for longer. Chiang Mai was our adventure holiday- trekking, rafting, elephant riding, playing with tigers! Then Phuket and Krabi were the relaxation spots, with amazing beaches and islands,  great night life, and lively night markets open til late.

(Do not be fooled by the picture- we played with the big tigers too!)

Next up was Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, which has the most impressive malls ever. Makes Westfield in London look tiny! I think the smallest one we saw was about 4 or 5 floor, and really...not that small at all. I was even more impressed when i saw Topshop in our local mall. Conveniently it was sale time as well so luck was on my side.

This was our local mall, connected to our hotel- Midvalley Megamall.

The Pavilion Mall- 7 amazing levels

Lastly it was another relaxation holiday in Bali, Indonesia. One of the most beautiful places i have ever been and i have the pictures to prove it.

So that is why there has been a recent delay in posting. Now i'm back so i'll make it my mission to post often (even though i don't think anyone reads them) but ah well. I have six weeks of magazine catch up and shopping to do so i better get started!

london college of fashion has talent

asos.com

I want i want. ASOS teaming up with the London College of Fashion has proved very successful. There's not much left but there is still a handful of stuff i want. They're not cheap unfortunately but they are one-offs, so maybe there's some justification there? LCF i love you!

Check out the rest here.

the intern

Rumour has it that Kanye West has a new job description to add to his CV...Intern at Gap. Seems he's been keeping busy in New York working at the Head Office of the US chain, as a way of educating himself on the insides of the fashion industry before launching his own designs.  But it does beg the question, why Gap? Couldn't he get an internship with any designer? Possibly Louis Vuitton seeing as he has his trainers coming out soon?

Everyone knows that celebrities don't have to work hard to get their own clothing line, so it's pretty impressive that Kanye's putting some effort into it, working 'all the time' and staying as late as 12am according to one source. It's doubtful that he's doing coffee runs but he's put more effort into it than most other celebs. And I always like it when the most stylish of celebs get their own fashion brand, so with the lengths Kanye's going to I'm sure it will be perfection, just how he likes it.

distractions distractions

Browsing topshop.com in search of something to wear to an upcoming wedding is severely dangerous stuff when you end up being totally distracted by other garments, which under no circumstances, can you wear to a wedding. I'm not sure how impressed the bride or groom would be to me turning up in 'pirate flag' accessories and I'm pretty sure denim and leather is banned at weddings. Picnicking in Hyde Park perhaps? Seems more appropriate. Maybe I'll have better luck finding wedding outfits another time, summer shopping is too much of a distraction...

first and foremost

After much blog reading over the past few months, I was ultimately inspired to follow suit. I'll treat it as an outlet to my fixation with everything fashion orientated. I'm no fashion expert but that doesn't mean i can't express my addiction to all things stylish right?

After much deliberation on how to approach my blog, what to include etc, I figured I'd just take it as it comes, otherwise I'd never get started!  So thank you to all fashion blogs for inspiring me, I'm so excited to get started! Any suggestions would be much appreciated since I'm so new to this.
